Wonderful hiking tour to Guttenberghaus with summit joy at Sinabell
This tour offers everything that makes a great hike: a steadily ascending path through impressive nature, diverse landscapes, cozy places to stop for a break—and for those who want to go a bit further, even a summit with panoramic views.
Directions:
We start our hike at the parking lot near Feisterer. From here, we head out on a wider forestry road – the path takes us past the Lärchbodenalm, through a light forest, and further into Feistererkar. The landscape changes here from wooded alpine meadows to increasingly alpine terrain. The trail steadily ascends, but never too steeply – just the right pace to get into a rhythm.
Through the larch alleys into the ‘Tiefkar’
The path gently ascends through the kar, accompanied by views back into the valley and ahead to the rock walls surrounding the Guttenberghaus. After about two to two and a half hours, we reach the Guttenberghaus – here we take a break with a refreshing drink and enjoy the view of the Ennstal valley and the surrounding mountains.
For those who still have energy after the break, we can continue hiking behind the Guttenberghaus – the path takes us to the Sinabell summit in about 30 minutes. The summit isn’t far, but it’s a bit more challenging. In return, we’re rewarded with a fantastic view, including a northern view over the “Stein.” Along the way, we encounter sheep that spend the summer here – sometimes they’re lying directly on the path, so don’t be startled.
The descent follows the same path as the ascent – perfect for experiencing the landscape from a different perspective. On the way back, we stop at the Lärchbodenalm. Definitely try the legendary Lärchbodenschnitte – a sweet reward for the day’s elevation gain.
